Perlite
Perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass that has a relatively high water content, they are characterised by the lightweight fillers with its thermal and acoustic insulation properties.
Perlite is used as an insulating material in roof decks, walls, and underfloor insulation systems, improving energy efficiency and reducing heating and cooling costs. In agriculture it used as soil amendment due to it excellent drainage and aeration capabilities. Perlites are also often used in various paints and testure coatings to add bulk to the formulations and there by being ligh weigh filler help in prevent settling of paints. In applications such as fireproofing, cryogenic storage tanks, and industrial furnaces, perlite is utilized as a loose-fill insulation material. Additionally, the fabrication of fire-resistant boards and panels uses perlite as a lightweight aggregate
